Under 100s Championship

Here are the final results of Season 3 of our Under 100s Championship.

Congratulations to Mick Brown and David Holmes, who took the top 2 places in what will be our last Under 100s competition, as a result of the ECF's new grading system.

An Under 1500s competition will start in October, with the Winner and Runner-up earning a plaque on our Trophy Board.

ECF Membership

Can I please take this opportunity to remind everybody that ECF Membership Fees are due now. You can renew your Membership from here. Please note that, if you have held ECF Membership at any time in the past, you MUST use the Renew option - NOT the Sign Up option. Only use the Sign Up option if you have never held ECF Membership in the past. If you have previously held ECF Membership, and you select the Sign Up option, the system will create a second Membership No. for you, which will have ramifications for the Rating System.

Please contact Neil Roberts on either njhammer145@gmail.com or 07804743471 if you would like to know more.

Ashby v Market Harborough.

We played a very enjoyable friendly match at Market Harborough on Thursday. It went down to the wire, with the scores level and the last game on Board 3 looking like being a draw. But Mick Brown played an excellent end game and we ended winning 7.5 - 6.5.

Under 100s League uodate

Our Under 100s League is not just online now, and is including games played face to face.

Here are the latest standings.

Fun Day report

Despite a very pessimistic weather forecast and rain early in the day, the event went ahead as planned and was a great success.  Well done to the organisers and those who took part.

We had several members of the public, including the Club Founder, Richard Waldrum, who took up the challenge to play against us, occasionally with success. Also several promising juniors had a go. We hope to see many of them at our Club in the future, and hopefully to become new members.

Here are a selection of photos from the event.
